According to the Institute of Materials Science, nanotechnology is the technology of the 21st century, it helps to protect and improve the quality of life. Silver Nano is a complete application of nanoscale science and technology to silver that enhances bactericidal, antiseptic, deodorizing properties. This modern technology is used in some health care products or food preservation equipment, painting, garment materials, cosmetics ...

The use of silver in shoe lining is quite new in the footwear industry in Vietnam. In just one minute, silver nanoparticles are capable of killing more than 650 different types of bacteria. In addition, silver nanoparticles will also help to generate active oxygen from the air or from the water and thereby destroy the cell membrane of the bacteria. Silver nanoparticles have been introduced into the plastics and are widely used in our lives. Silver nanoparticles such as polyethylene, polypropylene, paper, cloth ... are capable of killing three types of bacteria: yellow staphylococcus, Bacillus pneumoniae and E. coli.

With increased attention and consumer demand for health-friendly products, the antimicrobial lining based on traditional nylon-based materials is new research direction to meet social needs. This issue is also in the new research trend of the world, especially to help protect the health of consumers, improve the quality of high-grade leather shoes.

Research Institute of Footwear has selected the appropriate material for silver nanoparticles by immersion method and determining the concentration of silver nanoparticles at 100 ppm. The silver nanoparticle test showed that the antimicrobial activity was maintained well after six months of use. The nanoparticle content of the material was approximately 30% higher than that of the original. Silver nanoparticles are highly resistant to antibacterial activity and are suitable for coating lining materials. In addition, the antibacterial properties of silver nano-liner (leather, cotton) remain very well after 15 times to clean.

However, compared to conventional nano-silver lining, silver nano lining is subject to additional chemical, thermal energy, labor costs and other costs. Therefore, total costs will increase.

The first factory to apply silver nanotechnology in Vietnam

On 9/1/2015, Amie - the first factory in Vietnam using silver nanotechnology and GMP standard, was officially put into operation in Xuan Lam Industrial Park, Thuan Thanh district, Bac Ninh province. The factory with a total investment of $15 million is built on an area of over 20,000 square meters. This is a highly advanced technology project in Xuan Lam Industrial Park to meet the standards of hygiene and safety for users in the fields of consumer goods with medical care products. The silver nanoparticles help the above products to overcome the waterproofing function of the normal technology and create an antimicrobial environment.

Amie factory has modern production line system imported and assembled by international engineers and is in the system of companies specializing in providing medical products and services. Thus, in parallel with production, the factory will provide medical services through the hospital system in Hanoi and the northern provinces.
