Men's leather shoes are considered as a high-grade type of shoes by the material making them: leather. The leather is soft, supple and extremely durable. Actually, the leather has much longer lifespan than other types of leather. Leather can breathe so they can keep cool in the summer and keep warm in the winter. Leather is used to make bags, purses, belts and other things after going through a chemical processing called tanning. This process softens, soothes and protects the leather.

Leather can be classified into the following categories:

Full grain leather

The thickness of leather depends on age and its type of animal. Thick leather can split into many layers of skin. Full grain leather is the top layer of the leather, about 1.0 - 1.5 mm of thickness and also the best and most beautiful piece of leather. Full grain leather is divided into two types: intact leather and adjusted leather.

The  intact leather is kept in a natural state while the adjusted leather are affected on the surface to reduce the scratches. Most customers love the adjusted leather because they are easy to clean. This type of leather has a protective layer and scratch resistance while the intact leather does not. Full grain leather is very durable, not cracked during using and the leather will be more soft when used a lot. When using, you should avoid the surface of the leather from friction, especially at the shoetoe to ensure its good durability.

Split leather/covered leather

Split leather is the lower layer after removing the upper layer. It can be treated into a suede or split leather and covered with a leather surface. This type of leather are often hard and less durable than raw full grain leather. Due to the fact that the inner layer and outer covered layer have different stretchability, in the hot weather conditions like in Vietnam, the leather can be peeled and broken after a period of using. The durability of split leather depends largely on the quality of the artificial coatings on the surface of the leather, which is often difficult to assess with the naked eye. However, the advantage of this type of leather is that it can produce the hardened leather which is suitable for high-end men's leather shoe making, because it has a hardened and easy-to-shape form - that the full grain leather can not.

Split leather can be made to have veins leather that are nearly identical to those of full grain leather. However, when looking at the section, the leather layers may be uneven (splited in two). The surface of the leather does not have pores like the full grain leather and look like very natural, when you click on the leather surface, the leather's elasticity is poorer than the full grain leather.

Leather is a natural product, not a plastic or vinyl material, so there are differences in color. Even on the same type of leather, there is a difference in feeling between different positions. This difference is not a production error. This is a natural feature of 100% genuine leather. Such signs are also the reason why the leather becomes a highend material.

Even if leather is a very durable product, it still needs some care. If you place the type of product under the sun, it can be faded just. Avoid placing them on the heat source as leather will be dry and cracked. Limit the use of polishing chemicals or soapsto clean them.
