About softness

With leather soles, people often misunderstand that after tanning, they will harden and lose the softnes of the raw coarse skin. However, genuine leather undergoing treatment processing still is natural leather, so it still ensure not only the softness but also the durability and beauty of luxury after the tanning process. Thanks to the advantages of the leather, they are chosen for shoe making because of the ability to create easily the shoe shape which fit closely to the foot even after a long period of use. Therefore, a leather sole when combined with a midsole that connects the shoe and ground area along with the cork layer will make your moving easier and more flexible. The inner sole (located on the inside of the shoe, just below the foot in a shoe lining) will fit in the foot sole perfectly.

However, the disadvantage of leather soles is that if the manufacturing process is not done properly, the substrate will be very hard. In addition, leather soles have poor friction and this disadvantage is usually overcome by adding a piece of rubber to the sole to prevent slipping and protect your shoes.

Softness and flexibility is definitely the first feeling when you wear a pair of shoes with rubber soles. Not only that, thanks to high elasticity, rubber sole will bring absolute comfort to your feet. In addition, the rubber base has good friction, slippery, light weight, so it is suitable for strong activities such as sports. On the downside, its ability to fit closely to foot is still limited, especially after a period of use, it will lose the comfort as the original.

About durability

The lifespan of the leather soles is determined by the many layers of leather. A pair of shoes with three leather layers in sole can be more durable than any rubber sole. However, such a leather sole will make your shoes heavy, so it's common for footwear manufacturers to make only two layers. As for shoe soles with only one leather layer sole, after a while the sole will be worn, which makes condition for stains to penetrate into the shoes.

Rubber is one of the most durable materials. In addition, the rubber sole is a great option to prevent back up against mold. However, if your rubber sole appears to be a small cracks, your shoes will hardly be usable anymore because the cracks will spread faster and larger. When you spot a crack, immediately put a piece of rubber on it to help save the shoes.

Beauty aesthetics

A pair of western shoes with leather soles is the benchmark for luxury. However, in order to have such a beauty, it requires a lot of time, patience and skill from shoemakers. And to create a perfect pair of shoes with leather sole is not easy.

It is not comparable to leather sole, but the design of rubber sole is very luxurious and aesthetic. Nowadays, rubber shoes are so delicate that you have to touch it to know it is leather sole or rubber sole. The downside is that the rubber sole is usually thick and heavy, so it's for casual style rather than office style.

Today, designers have devised a combination of leather soles and rubber soles to overcome the disadvantages while retaining the superiority of both soles.
